Dear Financial Partners,

Thank you so much for your financial support and prayers. Our four-color brochure is now done. We will be mailing it soon.

About 25 churches were represented at the Lincoln rally and lighthouse of prayer seminar led by HOPE Ministries earlier this month. About 6 churches were represented in Kearney. We had to postpone Scottsbluff and Hastings lighthouse rally and seminar until the Spring.

I believe a good foundation is beginning in both of those towns. For example, I drove to Scottsbluff in mid-October to speak to about 15 pastors at an early morning breakfast concerning lighthouses of prayer. We spent time on our knees praying for unity. The pastors confessed a spirit of mistrust and competition in relating to one another. I sensed brokenness!

In the Lincoln and Kearney rally and seminar, intercessors and leaders learned how to develop a prayer, care and share lifestyle by learning to BLESS at least five neighbors, five minutes a day, five days a week for five weeks. Bless stands for the following needs: "B" – Body "L" – Labor "E" --Emotional "S" – Social "S" – Spiritual. Needs.

Beginning the first of Oct., I have been meeting with the men of Gates of Praise in Lincoln to establish a leadership core. We are doing phase I – Masculine Context -- using Building Brothers materials. The men have been responsive, open and prayerful. We will be reaching out to other churches soon.

Karen and I just finished the marital intimacy classes in Sunday School at First Evangelical Covenant and in our Sat. evening classes. We are thankful that couples are seeing the need to hold weekly marriage staff meetings to talk through and confess sin so they can experience healing and forgiveness.

Steve, our oldest son, is back in Colorado checking out various job possibilities for this winter. He is still undecided what to do. Aaron is finishing up his senior year at Southeast High. Tim is a sixth grader. Please pray that these young men have a passion to know Christ and serve Him with all their heart.

In closing, why was Israel or why are we half-hearted in giving God our very best? I believe we have a faulty understanding of God’s attributes. Because our perspective is too narrow, we reduce God to the size of sinful human beings. We fail to understand His character as revealed by Malachi: "My name will be great among the nations . . . I am a great king, says the Lord Almighty, ‘and my name is to be feared among the nations" (Mal. 1:11,14).

Sincerely in Christ,

Mark Pomeroy
