Sept. 29, 2001
Dear Financial
Partners,
One young lady so desired to
make an impact in her neighborhood that she stopped her car, found a pay phone
and called KGBI. I had the privilege to
talk to her.
I met with a man from
Lincoln who told me that he was tired of sitting on sidelines. He has a passion for youth to come together
in prayer to help lead change in our society.
These were the testimonies
of two people I talked to after giving a short update on KGBI concerning
lighthouses of prayer in Lincoln. I
also answered the phone for a two-hour segment with several pastors who
registered people desiring to start lighthouses of prayer in their neighborhood
or workplace.
About 16 couples heard David
Worland of the National Christian Foundation speak at an exploratory meeting
Sept. 24th concerning the possibility of starting a Christian
Community Foundation in Lincoln. We
received positive feedback -- please pray!
Please pray for the
accomplishment of these goals for Real Men:
1. Conduct marital intimacy workshops for couples in home and church
settings.
2. Expand weekly pastors’ prayer meetings to help unite spiritual leaders in
body of Christ.
3. Encourage monthly worship and intercession for revival and community
transformation in Lincoln and other communities as God leads.
4. Establish lighthouses of prayer in various communities as God provides
opportunities.
5. Write, test and publish four modules of Journey to Make God's Story Ours.
Four men from Lincoln will
be attending a Discipleship Summit with me in Denver Oct. 4-5 being hosted by
Mission America. It will bring together
national discipleship leaders in a discussion format on the following key
issues:
·
To
discern how the Lord might be moving in regard to discipleship
·
To
consider ways discipleship can be moved to center stage in the church
·
To
think interactively "outside the box" to find solutions to the
church's current difficulties regarding discipleship
·
Are
there any "breakthroughs"?
·
To
determine how we can help each other and are there things better done together,
rather than separately?
Thanks for your partnership
in bringing the gospel to our region through Real Men.
Sincerely in Christ,
Mark Pomeroy
