Dear Financial Partners,

Thanks for your financial partnership in Real Men. One of the ministries we are exited about and involved in is lighthouses of prayer. A Lighthouse of Prayer is a cluster of two or more believers who are banded together to pray for, care about, and share the blessings of Christ with non-believers who live or work nearby. Lighthouses make a big difference. This is a result of one lighthouse of prayer during a year in one community:

·         Neighbors were more friendly to each other

·         People on the block had gotten out of drugs

·         Two unemployed women had found jobs

·         Father had stopped drinking

·         Bible study had started

·         Father was healed after a heart attack

·         Woman was miraculously healed from an illness

·         Person was delivered from an evil spirit

·         Five persons came to know Christ

During Nov. 1-10, I will be promoting the lighthouse prayer ministry in Lincoln, Kearney, Scottbluff and Hastings. Please pray for the following:

  1. Pray for additional individuals and churches to participate in lighthouse of prayer training. I will be giving a 20-minute Mission America presentation at the beginning of the four-hour training in each of the four cities.
  2. Working with the men's ministry of Gates of Praise (Lincoln) for about 6 months to establish a leadership team using Building Brothers material.
  3. Leading two marital classes with Karen on Sun. a.m. at First Evangelical Covenant (Lincoln) and in a home on Sat. night.
  4. We are just about out of money -- $17,000 behind on our Year 2000 budgeted funding.

For those of you who have prayed for our marital intimacy ministries, this is what one of our couples wrote to us after attending a workshop:

Our biggest problem was unresolved anger and we were losing hope that we could overcome the growing obstacle of past problems. Continued discussion did little, and we were both holding tightly onto our hurts -- more than we realized! Now we feel free of our mistakes of the past! We were so excited after our last class that we shared our lists, prayed together, forgave one another and prayed some more. We truly feel like we are starting anew in our marriage.

Thanks again for your support and prayers. Without you, we could not continue to labor in this ministry.

Sincerely in Christ,

Mark Pomeroy
