Dear Partners in Ministry,

Thank you for your prayers and support to Real Men of Integrity. Recently, I have been impressed again with 2 Cor. 11:3: “But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”

How are our minds led astray? Let’s examine the context. First, if we adopt human weapons (lust of the flesh) instead of spiritual weapons -- prayer and the Word of God -- we will not “take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor. 10:3-5). Second, if we compare ourselves with others (lust of the eyes), we are “without understanding” (2 Cor. 10:12). Third, if we boast beyond the assignment God has “apportioned to us” (boastful pride of life), we will boast in ourselves, rather than the Lord (2 Cor. 10:13-18). In 1 John 2:15-17, the lust of the flesh and eyes, along with boastful pride of life, are evidences of loving the world rather than doing the will of God.

A way to pursue purity of devotion to Christ, in addition to the weekly pastors’ prayer meetings, is the monthly intercession for city transformation the first Thurs. of each month, 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Believers’ Fellowship, 3336 N. 14^th. Our next meeting is Mar. 2^nd. An all-night prayer meeting is Fri., Feb. 25^th. Everyone is invited! More details on back side for the latter.

A 58-minute Transformations video narrated by George Otis, Jr., depicts four cities on three continents where the socio-economic, political environment has been transformed by united prayer, persevering pastoral leadership and the gospel. Chuck Lane of Building Brothers led a Servant Leadership workshop Jan. 7^th & 8^th at Lincoln’s First Evangelical Covenant. Men from Lincoln, Omaha and Fairbury learned that servant leadership promotes unity in the body of Christ and displays Christ to a lost world. Men grow in a transformational environment that is safe, trusting and accepting; not tense, negative and judgmental. Building Brothers helps local churches develop a leadership core who become men’s ministry as they pursue a four-step, year-long, training process: Father Vacuum, Servant Leadership, Application and Pursuit of God.

I began a 12-week Old Testament Walk-Thru class Jan. 11th for singles (Tues. night, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., 1340 N. 44^th #16) that gives an unbeliever the essential background in order to place his faith in Jesus Christ and the believer a biblical understanding of who his faith rests in. Karen and I began an eight-week marital intimacy course Feb. 4^th that is training five couples on how to meet the intimacy needs of their mate to enhance spiritual, soul and body oneness in their relationship. We use resources from Intimate Life Ministries, Austin, TX. If you are interested in being part of a future study, please let me know.

All-Night Prayer

I know prayer seems like a vague thing to many people. Yet, how would you like to be touched in such a way that draws your attention? We all want to be treated in a loving way. Who longs for your touch more than the Lord? His heart aches to have you touch Him in word! He will reward you . . . oh, so richly . . . by being close to Him.

Purpose: Being Close to Him.

Theme: (Meditate on Our Position in Christ from Ephesians):

Focus on Unity in Body of Christ
Freedom for Pastors and Leaders
Fullness for Believers in the Church
Fulfillment of Great Commission in the World

Time: Fri., Feb. 25^th, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Location: Northern Lighthouse, 5901 N. 14^th (one mile north of 14^th & Superior, second property north of Interstate 80 on the west side).

Format: Sign up for one hour or more blocks of time as a captain or person to practice the presence of God. A variety of individual, small and large group singing and intercessory times. To sign up, please call 474-7325 or e-mail pomeroy@radiks.net.

Prayer Needs:

Encourage additional prayer partners and financial supporters to come on the team. Of the $30,000 additional support goal, $12,000 has come in or been committed. Please pray that $18,000 will come in.
Practice presence of God moment by moment.

Fan into flame greater spiritual fervency within our family.
Practice biblical unity, love and cooperation in the whole Church of Lincoln and Nebraska.
See our cities transformed by the power of the gospel as leaders and intercessors come together.
