Dear Partners in Ministry,
Thank you so much for your financial support of Real Men of Integrity. You are truly partners in the gospel with us. Steve returned home after we picked up his truck in Rawlins, Wyoming, where it had blown a head gasket New Year’s Eve. An elder from Monroe E. Free Church in Aurora traveled with us using his son’s truck and trailer. We are very grateful for the help.
God has done an amazing work in Steve’s heart. He realized he had been running from God. These truck problems caused him to surrender to God and let Him have control. Steve is developing a close relationship with a brother recently restored to fellowship with God. They are planning an event for men at Oak Lake E. Free Sat., Feb. 7 th, where both will share their testimonies and give other men an opportunity to give up everything for Christ. I will share from Luke 14 about being a disciple of Christ after Steve’s testimony. Here are a few thoughts:
God is looking for those who will love Christ more than father, wife, children and even their own life. He who does not hate his own life and give up his possessions cannot be My disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. One has to give up family, possession and his life in order to be a disciple of Christ. There are several things that men hang onto that prevent them from full surrender to God -- look at piece of land that was bought (possessions), try out five oxen (vocation), and married a wife (family). One has to come to the point of being poor, crippled, blind and lame before they are ready to give up all to follow Christ (Luke 14:15-33.)
Here is a quick ministry update:
During the weekly prayer times each Thurs., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., we intercede for unity in the body of Christ and for unreached people. My son, Steve, visited last week and shared what God is doing in his life. One pastor encouraged him to share his story with other pastors.
The Tues. morning pastor’s group that meets in NW Lincoln comes alongside other pastors by praying for them. We are open to visiting other churches and praying with their staff.
Continue to pray for the couples in the marital intimacy class that meets on Tues. night. Each face unique challenges and in need of spiritual breakthroughs.
Our editing and layout group for the “Guide for Authentic Living” meets Jan. 28 th. Nate Eslinger of Back To The Bible is laying out the first module so we can load on our web page.
